Curtis Davis is married with one son and two grandchildren. He attended Lee County Schools and Eastern Kentucky State College, now Eastern Kentucky University, later serving in the U.S. Air Force for two years before taking over his father’s farm. He started working at the Wiser Oil Company in the field before becoming payroll clerk, and later worked as superintendent from 1971 to 1993. While superintendent, he served as President of the Kentucky Oil & Gas Association from June 1986 to June 1988. Curtis has served on the Beattyville City Council for 12 years, and as deacon, secretary, and treasurer at Beattyville Christian Church for several years. He belongs to the Beattyville Masonic Lodge, Grand Lodge of Kentucky, and Oleika Shrine Temple. He is also a member of the VFW. He currently serves as vice chairman of the Marcum Wallace Hospital board, vice chairman of the Lee County school board, and chairman of the Middle Kentucky Community Action Partnership.
