Betsy Clemons is Executive director of the Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce, serves as the secretary of the newly formed Perry County Economic Development Board, and is a member of the Perry County Industrial Coal Fields Authority Board of Directors. She also serves on the ARH Foundation Board, and is a member of the Hazard Independent College Foundation Board and the Greater Hazard Area Performing Arts Executive Council and Advisory Board. She is the Hazard City Schools Family Resource Chair and serves as the chair of the Housing Development Alliance. Other committees include Christmas for Charity, Community Ministries, Hazard City Schools, CHICKS, Citizens Helping Inspire Children to Stay Straight and the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. Clemons received a BBA in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University. In her spare time she likes to travel and enjoys sports. She is married to Toddy Clemons, with whom she has two children—Kate, a third year student at the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Clint, who resides in Lexington and works at Whayne Supply. Clemons has helped to raise thousands of dollars for her community through her volunteer work. She loves her community, and works hard at trying to improve the quality of life in Hazard and Perry County.
