regional and local plan

The Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. (EKCEP) and the Eastern Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board (EKWIB) have released the draft WIOA Regional and Local Plan for the period covering program years 2025-2028. This plan outlines the strategic vision and operational framework for workforce development activities in the Eastern Kentucky region, as mandated by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and in alignment with the Kentucky WIOA State Plan.

In accordance with WIOA regulations and state requirements, EKCEP and the EKWIB are providing a 30-day public comment period to allow stakeholders and the general public the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the draft plan.

The public comment period will begin on Thursday, March 27, 2025, and will conclude on Friday, April 25, 2025. EKWIB welcomes and encourages all interested parties to submit written comments regarding the draft WIOA Regional and Local Plan.

All comments received during the public comment period will be reviewed and considered prior to the finalization and submission of the WIOA Regional and Local Plan.
